Simon Hogsberg is a very interesting portrait photographer. You can check his work online and see how "he sees people". His portrait might look a bit unusual for you, but this type of approach is also interesting in portrait photography and might give you some ideas about how to approach people.

He also did an amazing project: a 100 meter wall photo using a collection of portrait shot on one location but merged in one panorama. The faces and expressions clearly suggested that the photographer used a "snap-in-your-face" approach... Check it out!
