Photowalking and the idea of derive...

Derive is a concept of loosing yourself in a urban space and opening your eyes and your mind to what you see. "Derive" was used by the french situationists, an intellectual group and was apply to art. It is strongly linked with psychology and how your emotion reacts to the the urban space, People, atmosphere, geometry, colors, etc... By loosing all your marks, you will be able to finally open your eyes...
Psychogeograpy, situationist, derive, are keywords you can type on the web for more information

Photowalking is also a form of derive that consists of walking around town and shooting interesting pictures. Miksang photography is a more emotional form of art, for more information about it, please read my previous article.
